Reality show

I chose the reality show "The Real World" on M.T.V. I agree with what the article says about these televsion programs and commericals. As the Real World ended, all of the MTV television commericals began. Mostly teen commercials were displayed , which targets the teen viewers that watch MTV. When do you even see an elder watching MTV? All of the actors and actresses, and even Singers are all teenagers or young adults. MTV views newer music for the newer generation of teens. This is why they would show a phone advertisement with Christina Aguilera , a laptop advertisement, and even a proactive commercial with Jessica Simpson. These commericals target college teens and also teens who are influenced and attracted to the product more with one of the most popular recrding artists in America.

The Sporanos is morally dangeorus. The passage suggests that they are criminals, and kill people. One passage that supports this is "He breaks their legs and threatens to castrate them." Therefore, I believe watching The Sporanos is a bad idea.

I feel that The Sopranos TV series is more of a mature program. So if you are watching it you know right from wrong. you know that killing people is wrong, and stealing stuff is wrong. The book says that it isn't morally dangerous because everything evens itself out. There are good people, Dr. Melfi, there are people who are bad but do the time, Adriana, and then there is Tony Soprano. So all the characters even the show out.

One reality TV show that I watch when I have the time is CSI. This show presents how investigators solve crimes. This show creates a fictional view and a realistic view of how forensic science works. In the signs of life it says that these crimes scene shows have something to do wiht 9/11... and I dont feel that is true becuase they were on before 9/11. Maybe they have made them more relistic to show what really happens but I dont feel it has anything to do wiht 9/11.

Blog #8- Viewing an "reality" show

When viewing a reality show, it discusses what is going on in the real world. When I read the passage, "Video Dreams," it does show the similarilty of what the reality show discusses. The "reality" show that I viewed was "The Amazing Race." Basically it is about a team of two people who race around the world in order to win the one million cash. They do many things, such as detour, road block, and meet new people. For the detour, they either have a choice between two things, and the team have to pick one. The road block is when one member of the team have to perform the task. They follow each other, sometimes ask for help, and experience wonderful things on their journey. The book mentions that "reality" tv get polls, meaning that people are allow to rate how on good the show is, and it appears to on t.v. It also show culture, in which it affect the viewers to view the "reality" show. As the book mentions, "A game show element with an action adventure theme that invites viewers to imagine themselves in exciting outdoor situations that are exaggerated versions of the sort of adventure-safari vactions that had become very popular in the 1990s," the "Amazing Race" does relate to htis.

REALITY SHOW POST # 8

Reality TV is a genre that seems to be on the verge of taking over every other kind of televsion show. One reality television show i watch occationally is CSI. It basically a crime drama that shares story lines centered on muder mysterys, and investigators who solve it. These programs combine a fictional story line with realistic views into the world of a forensic scientist. It states in Signs of Life, "A second source for the interest in reality-oriented crime dramas can probably be found in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks." I agree with this statement also. Americans became aware of the people who are responsible for maintaining national security. Television crime shows show their audience basically that ordinary people like them are working to keep track of the bad guys, and it really makes us feel more secure.

The passage I have chosen from this essay is important because it shows the response to changes made in Ms. magazine. The female readers of Ms. were happy that advertisements and articles about how to apply your make-up were removed from the magazine. apparently many of the women felt that the magazine's new contents were much more gratifying and enjoyable. It shows that Gloria Steinmen had been correct when she surmised that her readers do prefer poem's to cigarette ads and diverse articles instead of articles on what color is popular this season.
