Post Blog #11- "The Simpsons- Hyper Irony"

Matheson's article is similar to, when viewing www.thesimpsons.com, in that when gonig on the webiste, it show different many things that a person could click on. When clicking on the characters, you see them in a line, and actually laughing and/or moving. Carl Matheson mentions that "Having missed the references, these people may interpret The Simpsons as nothing than a slightly offbase family comedy populated with characters who are neither very bright nor very interesting" (SOL 253). The webiste also attributes that there are many different ideas, things that are stil going on today, and was in the past. People pick which episode they can read, and find out what it was about.
If I had to explain any differences, I could explain it by saying that the website shows The Simpsons shop store, in which anyone could buy, such as games, a pen, etc. Also, the website shows that fashion is not important; family and education are very significant. It does not consist of an single episode, and "Over two hundred episodes spread out over more than ten seasons" (SOL 259). I also observed that Homer is sleeping and drewling on the desk. The Simpsons is a serious funny comedy that everyone laugh while watching. On the website, the characters are somewhat funny, and are more focusing on work. It shows somewhat entertainment, but on T.V., it shows more comedy enterainment.
