Sex, Lies, and Advertising
In the article by Gloria Steinem “Sex, Lies, and Advertising“, she talks a lot about the advertising industry. She asked people and watched people and found out that people really do are about what they are reading. People don’t understand how much advertising has an effect on us the consumers. I chose the sentence that explains how Gloria found out about how much advertising effects us. “After almost four years of listening to responses and watching the ripples spread out from this pebble cast upon the waters, I can tell you that, yes readers do care; and no, most of them were not aware of advertisers control over the words and images around it.” (Steinem 184)
