Post #5- Identifying a passage that I felt states an important idea

The passage I felt that summarizes/states an imporant idea was from the reading "The Parable of the Democracy of Goods." The section I chose was: "Another variation of the parable of the Democracy of Goods employed historical comparisons to celebrate even the humblest of contemporary Americans as "kings in cottages." "No monarch in all history ever saw the day he could have half as much as you," proclaimed Paramount Pictures....The "American idea," epitomized by the Fisher Body Corportation, was destuned to carry the comforts and luxuries conducive to human happiness into "the life of even the humblest cottager." I didn't feel like typing the whole passage....(Its on page 154 into 155). The reason why I thought this passage summarizes/states an important idea is because Kings/Monarchs are important in history because they rule their own government, rule the society, economy, give people freedom. ...."The phrase "The King in Cottages" to compliment ordinary Americans on their freedom from "hardships" that even Kings had been forced to endure in the past" (SOL PG 154). A King/Monarch is a powerful ruler, and it give people a life in their society. It summarizes what movies shows Kings and majority of them are good, and it attracts people to view the movie. Movies, when it comes to history, shows a good summary of how life was with a King/Monarch back in the old days. That why I chose to pick this specific passage. I may be wrong..Ii tried my best.. It may not be good lol.....
